The recently completed neighbourhood centre at Brighton is one of the first new centres to be based around a 'main street' in WA, and provides a dynamic entrance in to one of Australia's fastest selling residential neighbourhoods. The centre has already proven to be a community and economic success and has defied the critics who said that a 'main street' retail environment would not work in the outer metropolitan area of Perth.
The Mezz at Mt Hawthorn, WA
The refurbishment of 'The Mezz' created a new 'main street' as a focal point for the renovation and expansion of an existing local shopping centre. The new street, a decked parking structure sleeved with retail tenancies and new shop fronts facing the busy Scarborough Beach Road, replace large expanses of unsightly car parking and blank walls. This development has helped to establish Mount Hawthorn as one of the new hot-spots in town.
